Specifications

DESIGN

The Zenbook 15 features an elegant and sleek design. The back cover of this Zenbook is very shiny with clear ASUS brand identity, of course. The gloss pattern we have been familiar for a long time, including following in both mobile phones and other products. Really different, which must be said to be good, beautiful, very shiny, but of course, it is a fingerprint magnet.

Also the build quality is amazing and improved the last generations, but there is a bending when you press the area near the trackpad. This is not a issue for the cheaper laptop but feels bad on a  premium laptop.

Display

The Zenbook 15 is equipped with a 15.6-inch Nano Edge screen with a resolution of up to FHD 1920X1080 pixels and 92% screen-to-body ratio. The frequency of the 60Hz monitor and the side monitor or Anti-Glare supports also with Wide 100% sRGB color gamut.

Performance

The ZenBook 15 is powered with the Intel Core i7-8565U CPU which can increase the speed to 4.6GHz in Turbo boost mode with a base clock of 1.8 GHz. In addition, this model comes with onboard graphics Intel UHD 620 memory, GTX 1050 Max-Q 16GB RAM and Windows 10 Home. The 16GB RAM gets the work done and is future proof.

The Intel UHD Graphics 620 onboard graphics card must say that this unit supports 2D functionality and is comfortable with a little bit of 3D.

The GTX 1050 performs good in our benchmarks and was able to hit the sweet spot of 60FPS in most games but it did break a lot of sweat as the temperature reached up to 85C while benchmarking and gaming.

The storage is 1TB NVME storage capacity which is pretty good and is blazingly fast. The 16GB RAM is good enough to work and can easliy store haevay apps and run enough chrome tabs without crashing.

Heating is still a big issue while working as  the Zenbook 15 gets heated-up easily making the display hot as the Vents directly throw air on it. The Keyboard also become hot enough to be uncomfortable to type. The fans could disturb you as during load the Ultrabook gets louder.

Battery

The Asus Zenbook15 features a 4 Cells 73 Whrs Polymer Battery. For charging into it that supports It takes about 50 minutes to charge up to 60% and is fully charged. It is not long. About 80 minutes, very fast and the battery. Asus has a pre-installed app, ASUS Battery Health Charging in this app you can select 3 charging mode depending upon your need and usage.

Keyboard & Trackpad

Zenbook15 features a LED Illuminated chiclet keyboard with three different brightness settings – has a surprisingly high resistance and deep travel (1.4mm). Typing on the keyboard is reliable and positioning the button is well done. Distance is reasonable and comfortable to use.

Under heavy load the Trackpad and Keyboard become hot, hot enough to make writing uncomfortable.

My Opinion

Asus Zenbook 15 is a beautiful beast, if you don’t like the user interface of Apple Macbook Pro then you can definitely go for this one. It can work as fast as Macbook thanks to SSD.
